Bristol is a city and ceremonial county in the South-West of England, near the Welsh border. With over 420,000 residents it is England's 6th most populous cities and is the largest centre of culture, employment and education in the region.

With remains of settlements dating back 60,000 years across the Bristol region, the city itself has a long and varied history. Mentioned in the Domesday Book, Bristol grew as a port town, handling much of Britain's trade with Ireland and having its own shipbuilding industry.

Ranked as Britain's most sustainable city, Bristol is no longer dependent on the shipping industry, instead it has spread to tertiary industries including national defence. Famous for it's music and theatre, Bristol is a centre for culture and there is always something to do in this bustling city.
