MORE STALLHOLDERS have been announced for five festive North Somerset markets taking place in aid of charity at the end of the year (November and December, 2017).
Shoppers will be able to buy handmade Christmas gifts and decorations at The White Hart in Weston In Gordano on Thursday evening, November 23 and then every Thursday evening until December 21.
Event organiser Pilar Amores from Two Crowns Event Management in Portishead explained: “It’s wonderful we’ve such a fabulous location for these markets and a gorgeous garden backdrop for everyone to enjoy that will be twinkling with fairy lights and very festive.
“The White Hart is a well-known pub and restaurant with an amazing and extensive outdoor area including a tepee with a fire pit, so it promises to be very atmospheric. We’ve lots of lovely stallholders booked in to offer everything from locally-made and sourced food items to festive decorations and interesting gift ideas.
“Among those attending will be Tickety-Boo Art, which offers illustrations of animals and famous artists, as well as painted stones and watercolours. We’ve also got Potter Moo Studios with its pottery art, featuring handmade artisan classics with a modern twist and Fat Poppy Cat, which makes mosaics, brooches and other handmade crafts.
“Other stallholders include: Mandala Markets with its jewellery, clothes and wall hangings made from beautiful, diverse and quality materials, Bemmie offering images of favourite canines, as well as views of Bristol and to add to all this, we’ve Vaguely Vintage coming along with furnishings, clothing and décor from the 20th century.
“On the food side of things, The Wicked Chili is joining us and it’s billed as the hottest stall going! They will be selling chili sauces and preserves to make your winter warmer. Plus the pub will be offering various warming drinks, snacks and meals for hungry shoppers!”
Each market will start at 4pm and run until 9pm. An entrance fee of 50p per person will be charged with all monies raised going to The White Hart’s charity of the year – Changes Bristol. There’s free entry for children.
Chris Yeatman, who co-owns the The White Hart, said: “Our Venga bus will be running on a free transport loop on these evenings to and from our sister restaurant and tapas bar Venga in the High Street at Portishead to us from 4pm. The last bus back to Portishead will be at 9pm.
“As well as all the other stallholders, we will do a ‘mulled’ drinks stall offering mulled wine, sangria, champagne and cider.
“We will have our patisserie open throughout each event offering tea and coffee to drink on-site, and cakes and artisan bread as well as Christmas chocolates, Yule logs and panettone. People can order their Christmas goodies on the night and come and collect them nearer to Christmas if they wish too. This year we’re also taking pre-orders for our new gluten free Christmas cake.
“Our chefs will also provide a chilli and rice for shoppers to purchase and eat on site throughout the evening. We’re hoping to ensure the markets are entertaining too with carol singers and choirs.”
Changes Bristol gives people suffering from mental health issues a place to talk about their feelings and the platform to take steps towards improving their lives.
As one in six adults in England suffer from a common mental health disorder, and are more likely to use community services, Changes Bristol has become increasingly essential in the areas where it operates.
The White Hart’s Christmas markets run from 4pm until 9pm each Thursday from Thursday, November 23 until Thursday, December 21, 2017.
